Pool Rules
The following rules must be abided by all members and guests of Drexel Swim Club
GENERAL POLICIES
Membership cards are non-transferable and must be presented at the gate upon entry. Violation of this rule may result in suspension or loss of membership.
Members are responsible for the behavior of their guests. Any disruptive behavior by a guest may result in suspension of both the guest and the sponsoring member.
Lifeguards and pool management have full authority over all pool activities. All members and guests must follow their instructions immediately.
Any misuse or damage to pool property may result in suspension of pool privileges. Restitution for damages must be made before privileges are restored.
Smoking is not permitted within the pool area. Designated smoking areas are located near the parking lot.
Glass or other breakable containers (including glass bottles, jars, and baby bottles) are not permitted on pool grounds.
Members and guests must dispose of trash in the receptacles provided and leave their area clean before departing.
Photography or video recording of other members or staff without their consent is prohibited.
Adult swim periods may be announced at the discretion of pool management and are restricted to adults age 18 and older.
The swim club is not responsible for lost or stolen personal belongings.
CHILD SUPERVISION
Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible member or guardian age 16 or older while on pool grounds.
Babysitters supervising children under age 12 must be at least 18 years old and may supervise no more than four (4) children at one time.
Children who are not toilet trained must wear waterproof swim diapers and are restricted to the baby pool only. They are not permitted in or at the edge of the main pool.
Children using the baby pool must be supervised by a parent or guardian who must remain within the fenced baby pool area.
Recreational equipment will not be distributed to very young children unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
POOL CONDUCT AND SAFETY
Running, roughhousing, dunking, riding on shoulders, playing tag, or any activity deemed unsafe by lifeguards is prohibited in the pool area.
Sitting or blocking the pool entry steps is not permitted in order to maintain safe access and exit.
Inflatable rafts, pool noodles, inner tubes, balls, scuba equipment, or other flotation devices may only be used with lifeguard permission.
Swimmies or flotation aids are permitted only in the shallow area of the main pool and only when a supervising adult is in the water with the child.
All recreational equipment must be returned to its proper location after use.
SWIM TEST AND DEEP WATER
Children age 12 and under must pass the pool’s deep-water swim test before entering the diving area, using the diving board, or using the water slide.
Please see the manager on duty to arrange a swim test. Approved swimmers will receive a wristband that must remain visible.
DIVING BOARD RULES
Divers must jump or dive from the front of the board only.
Only one person is permitted on the diving board at a time.
Only one bounce is permitted before entering the water.
Backward dives, gainers, or other unsafe maneuvers are not permitted.
After entering the water, swimmers must immediately swim to the nearest ladder and exit the pool.
A line should form on the deck at the bottom of the diving board ladder.
WATER SLIDE RULES
All slide users must have passed the swim test and must wear the designated wristband.
Only one person is permitted on the slide at a time.
Wait until the previous slider has completely cleared the landing area before sliding.
No running on the slide stairs.
After exiting the slide, swimmers must immediately leave the landing area.
Swimming in the landing area is not permitted unless directed by the lifeguard.
PARTIES
All parties must be approved by pool management.
A party request form must be completed at least two weeks prior to the event.
Parties may be scheduled for up to four (4) hours in the picnic area. Parties may begin no earlier than one hour after pool opening and must conclude at least one hour before pool closing.
Party size may not exceed twenty-five (25) guests. The guest fee is $8 per person.
A complete guest list must be provided to the front office staff on the day of the party so guests can be checked in upon arrival.
All food and beverages must remain in the picnic area.
Party hosts are responsible for cleaning the area after the event.
ENFORCEMENT
Pool management reserves the right to suspend or revoke pool privileges for any member or guest who violates these rules.
These rules are intended to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for all members and guests.
